“In your quest for freedom never allow the mind to abandon the body.”
My work helps people move toward freedom and out of stuck places, toward better contact with self and others, away from stagnation and isolation. I use two different healing modalities: acupuncture, and psychotherapy. While we may agree to combine both in a session, usually people come for either acupuncture or therapy.
Acupuncture and therapy both rely on your innate ability to heal and to move toward balance. In acupuncture, tiny needles placed at specific points inspire your body to move toward dynamic homeostasis. This takes place in the context of a supportive relationship, but the focus is more on the intervention, and on the resulting improvement in your health.
In therapy, my work with you draws on suggestions, questions, thought experiments and mindfulness practices that encourage you to change in relationship to yourself. My approach focuses on connecting to support. Emotional pain is relieved by strengthening your self support and relationships with other people.
